Conor Hyde ist der managing director von Hyde Whiskey in Skibereen, in West Cork, bzw. Alan und Conor Hyde sind Besitzer von Hibernia Distillers, die man gegenwärtig als unabhängige Abfüller bezeichnen könnte.
Dort in West Cork sind sie zwar neu, aber bei weitem nicht alleine. Ihr erster whiskey No. 1 President's Cask war ein 10 jähriger Cooley single malt gereift in first fill flame charred Kentucky bourbon casks und finished in vintage sherry casks. Hyde glaubt, in etwa 5 Jahren whiskey aus eigenen stills verkaufsfertig zu haben.
