Charakteristik:
bottlers note: Aroma: Elegante Aromen von frischen Steinfrüchten, Birnenblüten, getrockneter Ananas und Panna Cotta mit einem Hauch von Backgewürzen.

Geschmack: Cremige Schichten aus gebackenem Pfirsich, Reispudding, Lemon Curd und Créme Caramel, vermischt mit wohliger Muskatnuß und Zimt.

Im Nachklang pochierte Birnen, Ingwerkekse und Aprikosenplätzchen, die zu einem süß würzigen Ausklang übergehen.

Ausbau: Bourbon und Sherry Casks (?)

Besonderheit: non chill-filtered, natural colour.
Früher wäre das eine willkommene Ergänzung zwischen dem 15 jährigen, den 17 jährigen Sonderabfüllungen und dem 21 jährigen gewesen - den es nicht mehr zu geben scheint. Dafür nun ebenfalls eine Marke mit einem inflationären Portfolio. whisky Mangel scheint in ganz Schottland kein Thema mehr zu sein.

Glencadam wurde erstmals überhaupt seit 2005 vom Eigentümer Angus Dundee Distillers abgefüllt und bis Ende 2008 gab es auch nur diese eine expression, Glencadam Highland Single Malt Aged 15 Years. Dieser wurde im November 2008 re-launched und sein vatting völlig neu zusammengestellt. Ziel war es, "to produce a refined and elegant malt with soft sweetness. From the batches of casks available, only those casks which fully met the objectives were selected. Additionally, the 15 years old was bottled at 46% vol without chill-filtration and with no added colouring to ensure that the fragrant components in the whisky are preserved to enhance impact and flavour and to allow the naturalness of the whisky in cask to be enjoyed to the full." Neu auch eine 10jährige expression, ebenfalls mit 46% vol, without chill-filtration and with no added colouring abgefüllt. Gegründet im Jahre 1825, ist Glencadam eine der ältesten legalen Destillerien in Schottland. Sie ist die einzige noch aktive Destillerie aus dem ehemaligen Königreich Angus, in der Nähe der Royal Burgh of Brechin gelegen. Nach verschiedenen Besitzerwechseln ist Glencadam seit 2003 im Besitz von Angus Dundee Destillers.
