Geschmack: Köstlich süße Sultaninen mit Sherry-Aroma, Orangenstücke, Walnüsse und Butterscotch treffen zusammen und erzeugen komplexe, warme Beigeschmäcker.
Im Nachklang lange und befriedigend mit Gewürzorange und mit Schokolade überzogenenen Haselnüssen.
Ausbau: "This full-bodied single malt whisky is initially matured in bourbon casks then extra matured or 'finished' in Oloroso & PX sherry casks for a richer taste".
Besonderheit: chill-filtered, gefärbt.
Was Glenmorangie hier bezweckt ist nur beim Preis völlig klar. Kostete die bisherige Fassung des Lasanta Extra Matured 36,95 € kostet die seit 2014 neue Fassung Port Cask Finish stolze 52,75 €.
Dabei hat sich eigentlich außer dem Namen nicht wirklich etwas geändert, es handle sich immer noch um eine 2 jährige Nachreifung in sherry casks, jetzt Orloroso und Pedro Ximenez, nur daß man nun nicht mehr von extra maturation sondern vom gängigeren finishing spricht. Was richtiger ist kann man bei zwei Jahren in den sherry casks trefflich bestreiten.
Es wird gesagt: "Unneccessarily well made. Chill-filtered and bottled at 43% ABV, Glenmorangie Lasanta is full-bodied and rich in texture, with a wonderfully long and smooth finish; an unneccessarily well made whisky, finished in Oloroso sherry and PX sherry casks."
