Charakteristik:

Geschmack: Reichhaltig und köstlich mit subtilen Noten von verkohlten, glühenden Holzscheiten im Feuer und Haselnuß.
Im Nachklang verkohlte Eiche, Rauch, Haselnuß, dunkle Schokolade, süße Würze.
Ausbau: matured initially in Bourbon Barrels before being finished for approximately 6 months in Oloroso sherry hogsheads
Besonderheit: non chill-filtered natural colour, limited edition, peated to 50ppm.
Bekanntlich haben die Isle of Arran Distillers Ltd. am Südende der Insel ab dem Februar 2017 begonnen eine zweite Destillerie bei Lagg zu bauen, die 2019 fertig war. Gleichzeitig wurde auch in der Lochranza distillery die Kapazität erweitert. Zusätzliche vier neue stills sollen zusätzliche 700000 Liter spirit per year liefern. Außerdem erfuhr das Besucherzentrum ein complete redesign.
Anfang September 2023 hat die Lagg Distillery auf der Isle of Arran die zweite Edition ihrer core range The Lagg Corriecravie Edition veröffentlicht. Dieses release ergänzt den Lagg flagship single malt - The Kilmory Edition, der schon im Juni 2023 erschien. Der Corriecravie reift anfänglich in bourbon barrels bevor er in Oloroso serry hogsheads direkt vom Produzenten Miguel Martin in Jerez, für rund 6 Monate gefinished wird. Er kommt mit 55% ABV, non chill-filtered und no added colouring. Vom Geschmacksprofil sei er leicht reicher als die Kilmory expression, zeigt eine andere Seite des Lagg spirit, mit Noten von süßeren Gewürzen und reichen Früchten im Vordergrund. Außerdem wir die Corriecravie Edition in kleinerer Auflage abgefüllt.

Der Name Corriecravie stammt von einem Dörfchen im Nordweten des Ortes Lagg. Hier hat man wundervoll weite Aussichten entlang der südküste von Arran.

The Corriecravie Edition is bottled in limited quantities once a year. The spirit for the Corriecravie Edition is matured initially in Bourbon Barrels before being finished for approximately 6 months in Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads sourced directly from producer Miguel Martin in Jerez, Spain.
For this edition, we have used Concerto malted barley and water from our own borehole. Our chosen yeast and fermentation time allows us to create the full-bodied flavour we are looking for in this distillation.
The taste profile is slightly richer than our Kilmory expression bringing to the fore notes of sweeter spices and rich fruits. The Corriecravie Edition is bottled at 55% ABV, without chill filtration and with no added colour.”
