bottlers note: Aroma: Quillt über mit Noten von Apfel, Vanille und malzigen Noten. Ein sehr zarter Hauch von Rauchigkeit ist im finish bemerkbar.
Ausbau: first fill Bourbon barrels, refill sherry butts, recharred American oak hogsheads and a small proportion of whisky finished in French oak casks with a light toast.
Besonderheit: non chill-filtered, natural colour, limited edition 6151 Flaschen.

Rosey Mitchell ist die Gewinnerin 2018 bei The Circle, einem Compass Box Programm designed um bartenders around the world zu inspirieren, mehr whisky an die Person zu bringen. Solche Programme haben inzwischen fast alle Spirituosen Konzerne.
Rosey’s Preis? Die Creation eines blends zusammen mit Compass Box Gründer John Glaser und whiskymaker Jill Boyd. Rosey wollte einen zugänglichen whisky, gedacht um mit Freunden geteilt zu werden, etwas für über den Tag, einen whisky mit Leuchtkraft. Sie nannte ihn “sunshine in a glass.”
"The Circle is based around a parcel of fruity and creamy single malt from the Tamdhu Distillery in Speyside. This is supported by malt whisky from the Clynelish Distillery. A touch of peated malt whisky from an Orkney distillery and a small proportion of a French oak-finished blended malt whisky complete the recipe.
We think we’ve achieved exactly what Rosey envisaged. The whisky is bright and warm with a creamy softness. It practically radiates sunlight!"

Der Highland blend hat 60% malt aus Clynelish, 20% von Dailluaine und 20% von Teaninich.
2014 ging Compass Box einen supply contract mit John Dewar & Sons, dem Scotch whisky Zweig von Bacardi ein. Im April 2015 tätigte Bacardi ein long term "investment" in Compass Box, dessen Größe ungenannt blieb. In einem Statement beeilte sich Bacardi zu versichern, daß Compass Box unabhängig operieren werde und seine "unconventional and innovative philosophy, as well as its small batch production values" beibehalten würde. Das klingt, als hätte Bacardi eine Mehrheit erworben. Das würde auch die Preisgestaltung erklären.
